I realize my works on cotton paper which gives them this texture, this softness which can be like fabric. Pigments of colors, inks, golds, and silvers bring their light, their shimmering brightness, their gaiety and create lively and sometimes surprising reflections.
My goal, when I paint, is to transform my energy, my thousand projects, my movements, all that I master in a way, to let the material and my imagination live. Paper absorbs water and color, pigments melt; there is as in love a desired chance, unexpected marriage of colors, worlds that are born.
After years of experience in the field of glass and its capricious fragility, I looked for a pictorial technique that would allow me to express my desire to render the paradox of materiality and transparency as well as to transmit my poetic vision of the universe. Dreamed landscapes, soul’s spaces, calm liquid overflows or violent solar invasions, it is an invitation to everybody to manipulate the constitutive elements of the world to create non-existent but possible spaces, which it is important to believe in.
In my works, I often choose, I reframe to find the most moving meeting points, to inspire kind of contemplative calm and give the means not to recognize places but by affinity to know the earth.
