Jérôme DURAND is a 33-year-old artist from Arrage.

He studied at the Ecole Supérieur des Arts de Saint Luc in Tournai where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in advertising in 2012. This artistic training allowed him to understand numerous techniques (perspective, composition, balance…) and to develop one’s artistic culture. Today he is an artistic director in a Roubais advertising agency.

For 6 years, he has been creating works based on paper cut with a cutter then superimposed to create graphic paintings. Jérôme Durand designs unique works using paper as both subject and support for his creations. The lines and squares intersect and evoke an impression of volume and movement. The geometry of his paintings recalls the optical art of Victor Vasarely.
