artist/ CAUDRON

France

Born in 1947, Didier Caudron exhibits his work since 1992 in various galleries in France and abroad. Self-taught painter, constantly learning with self-criticism, he has painted every day for more than forty years, in parallel to a second professional activity, general practitioner. About 3 000 paintings have already left his workshop. Didier Caudron only works with oil paints and he always uses a lot of material. Using a palette knife, his gestures create some sorts of geological formations. Always in research, halfway between figurative and abstract, his painting is colourful and dynamic, and it celebrates lights, reflections, shadows or movements. A lot of his imaginary landscapes, of which some are seen from the air, offer to the visitor some living perspectives.
His figures and still-life paintings are created with the same enthusiasm. B.G.

Didier Caudron wrote:
“A continuous work from one canvas to another, emotions spattered by the memories and gestures, this Nietzschean propulsion brings me to the attempt of giving rise to a liberating urge using Art.”

“The unfinished is an important stage, the risk to move from a project peak to a disappointing reality. Whatever the field, we all know this inspiring anxiety.”
