Founded in Rouen in 2015 by Paul Delahaye, the Galerie Outsiders has also expanded with a 100 m² space in Enghien-les-Bains, managed by Sébastien Savic, a close family friend. Specializing in urban and contemporary art, its primary mission is to represent and promote emerging artists, among the most promising on the art market. The Rouen gallery spans 450 m², offering a vast setting for a variety of exhibitions.
Prior to this, in 2017, Paul Delahaye had already founded a gallery in Marrakech in collaboration with Milo Savic, continuing his dedication to the art world. In 2019, the gallery further expanded its network with the opening of a space in Lyon’s second arrondissement, consolidating its presence in France—a venture that ceased in 2022.
In 2023, Maria Delahaye, Paul’s wife, joined the journey, reinforcing the gallery’s familial character. Together, they have successfully combined passion and expertise to offer artists genuine opportunities to gain recognition. By showcasing young talents and providing them with exhibition conditions akin to those of globally renowned artists, the gallery has fostered close collaboration with its artists, ensuring optimal visibility for their work among urban art enthusiasts.
In November 2024, the gallery extended its reach with the opening of a new space in Pacy-sur-Eure, situated between Rouen and Paris, in a 200 m² venue near the highway. For this project, Paul and Maria Delahaye partnered with Ephraim Jouy—a collector, former museum director, writer, art analyst, and catalog author—and Nicolas Blondeel, who brought the idea to life by providing the commercial space and leveraging his network. While Nicolas plays a more distant role, he remains passionate about art and artists. This new location reflects the gallery’s desire to strengthen its presence in Normandy while attracting clientele from the Eure Valley and Paris. The gallery’s raw, minimalist space allows for large-scale exhibitions and fosters a contemporary orientation.
Beyond its gallery walls, Outsiders is also involved in special collaborations, such as with the city of Rouen, which has provided two urban art spaces in the city center under the gallery’s artistic direction. These spaces enable artists to perform numerous artistic projects throughout the year, transforming the city into an open-air museum.
The gallery also organized a charity auction during the Covid crisis, rallying its community and artists to support a worthy cause during a challenging period. This initiative demonstrates the gallery’s commitment to playing an active and positive role in society, contributing to initiatives that extend beyond art.
This positioning has allowed the gallery to build a solid reputation among art professionals and the general public within just a few years. It has since exhibited more established artists while maintaining a special focus on emerging talents. The gallery’s approach is to offer a wide range of price points to accommodate all types of collectors, from newcomers to seasoned enthusiasts, perpetuating the convivial and accessible spirit of this family-run enterprise.
