MB D79 is a non-profit association. The initial benefactor members come from the art world, gallery owners, collectors and well-informed art lovers. They are very sensitive to the current issues facing our planet, and in particular those of our neighbour, the Baltic Sea, which is in great ecological danger and under strong geopolitical pressure.
Their know-how in this area is to bring their emotions to light, share them and get the word out.
This association, which is open to all those of goodwill, combines solidarity, ecology and art. It is driven by one desire: to show its solidarity and raise public awareness of the crucial need to preserve the Baltic Sea by celebrating this cause through a significant and emblematic work of art by Jean Denant.
‘The aim is to use the association’s activities to finance the installation of monumental works of art, cut-outs of the Baltic Sea in stainless steel mirrors positioned facing the sea, each proudly adorning a prominent, emblematic location in a country bordering the sea. These shiny mirrors become luminous beacons of awareness, eloquently tracing the contours of the Baltic Sea in a visual and symbolic echo of solidarity between nations’.
An installation is planned for June 2025 on the shore of the town of Jurmala in Latvia.
