Founded in Paris by film producer Claude Kunetz in 2010, the Wallworks gallery has rapidly established itself on the urban art scene with solo shows devoted to French (Nebay, Tilt, Katre) and American (Crash, Haze, Rime, Sonic) graffiti artists, and group shows where artists are invited to customise street furniture. The gallery’s programme has since expanded to include works by visual artists such as China’s Ma Desheng and Germany’s Hendrik Czakainski, whose work deals with the environment and climate change.
The Wallworks gallery organises four or five exhibitions a year and regularly offers artists residencies. It also produces off-site exhibitions such as ‘Off the Wall’ in Singapore in 2011, ‘Urban art in aid of Emmaüs’ at the Grande halle de La Villette in 2015 and ‘Mémoire Vive’ at the Hôtel Molitor in Paris in 2023.
