Specializing in wood engraving printed on a typographic press, the DPJ workshop works for and with leading artists, creating original works intended for the edition of prints.
The workshop is located in Sète, along the canal—a discreet space that carries forward the age-old gestures of letterpress printing and wood engraving. Here, nothing is automated: each print is pulled by hand, sheet by sheet, in the smell of ink and a silence broken only by the rhythm of the press.
Today, the workshop’s engraver is Borja Moreno. He works there daily, overseeing every stage of the process: engraving, inking, adjusting the press, and printing each sheet one by one.
