ametron [art space] is a contemporary art gallery, founded in 2019, in the historic old town of Chania, on the island of Crete. Its purpose is to present to our global audience, works of renowned artists as well as promising, emerging artists, with immeasurable talent and creativity.
Without clear dividing lines and restrictions, our collection includes works of different forms and artistic expression such as painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, installation and performance.
ametron = without measurement
What goes beyond the nature of the measure, shows us the deviation of scarcity and exaggeration from the middle. The deviation from the “normal”.
Doubting metrical systems, art focuses beyond the regularity of mediocrity, not as something that does not exist or should not exist, but because art is wider than any strict reality.
