Lille art up!

Nicolas Vanpoucke (born in 1982 in the Yvelines) is an artist illustrator whose approach is sharpened by his landscape and urban planning eyes. His work unfolds around the notions of city, travel and memory of places. Through a drawing practice attentive to the details of reality, he explores how urban spaces transform and shape our perceptions.

His works capture the density of everyday life: lights, sounds, rhythms, but also silences and voids. Each image becomes the trace of a territory traversed, a fragment of urban history captured in its movement. By archiving through drawing the spaces traversed, Nicolas Vanpoucke preserves sensitive memory and mutations.

As an attentive observer, he documents the contemporary city while giving it a poetic dimension. His work is at the crossroads of a travel journal and architectural study, offering a reflection on time, transformation and memory of inhabited spaces.
