France
VanBinh is a French contemporary artist based in Limoux. For more than 25 years he has gained international recognition through the sale of his works, artistic performances and the creation of monumental works.
Using clay, steel, bronze and paint, he has mastered a wide range of techniques and materials, giving him creative freedom. From ‘tiny sculptures’ to works over 10 metres tall, VanBinh is used to innovating and working on unusual, made-to-measure projects.
On 21 September 2024, he inaugurated his ‘Liberté Chérie’ exhibition, which includes a single work over 1km long, creating one of the world’s largest calligraphies on the theme of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This extraordinary performance, visible in 3D, took the artist 3 years to complete.
After his solo show at Lille Art’Up in 2019, this year we’ll be presenting some of the calligraphies from his work ‘Liberté Chérie’, as well as his ‘Compression’ series, in which he plays with stainless steel to create highly sensitive abstract works.
