Iwan Smit (1989) has been drawing for as long as he can remember. From an early age, he laid the foundation for his recognizable style. During his studies at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, he focused on illustration and visual arts. Later, he expanded his practice to include sculptures and light installations.
Iwan Smit’s work is impressive, yet conveys a sense of balance. It is the result of personal, honest creation combined with great talent. This combination is further enhanced by his unmistakable signature style. Once you’ve seen his work, you will always recognize it.
Smit’s work is part of the collection at the Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum. He may also be known for designing the new Duvel glasses or for his large light installation at the Lowlands festival.
