Sennoj Code is a 30-year-old French artist living in Hauts de France
Coming from an applied arts course, as part of his studies, he was introduced to technical drawing and sketch drawing.
Geometric and formal rigor no longer abandons him and is today at the genesis of his style.
Having found his favorite medium in painting on canvas, he continues to explore and pursue his artistic journey, always listening to new inspirations.
Sennoj’s influences are drawn mainly from the psy-trance scene, known for the richness of its visual universe, partly inspired by oriental religious imagery as well as the psychedelic movement.
Intimately linked to his musical tastes, his paintings are music to the ears. A way for him to let the sounds guide his hands and immerse him entirely in his work. Some of his paintings require several weeks of work, this state of trance as well as the feeling of forgetting oneself is inseparable from his artistic practice.
Through the profusion of details with which he adorns his paintings, he invites spectators to a more attentive reading, and thus tests their patience. A patience specific to his personality and indeed to his creative process.
Fascinated by ancient writings, he integrates signs similar to Arabic, Aztec, Chinese and Egyptian into his paintings. Then the writing becomes a pattern and the form detaches itself from its meaning to celebrate only its curves, its voids and its fullness.
