Esther Seguin began sculpting wood at the age of sixteen, self-taught, using a chainsaw and chisels to carve animals before turning her attention to the human figure. Her artistic path later took shape through training at the École Boulle, where she deepened her understanding of anatomy, classical techniques, and sculptural gesture.
Her work explores the face, the body, emotion, and the passage of time. She shapes figures whose expressions often carry a quiet melancholy, allowing the wood itself to tell its own story. Her inspirations are diverse — nature, legends, literature, and music — all transformed into visual narratives through sculpture.
She regularly participates in solo and group exhibitions, particularly in Brittany, and was awarded the Public Prize at the “Terre & Flamme” Salon in 2024 for the expressive power and sensitivity of her work.
