Movements in art such as surrealism and magical realism fascinated him already at a young age.
In his own compositions he includes these influences, but first and foremost is that he let his own imagination run wild without letting himself be limited by whatever “ism”.
By combining and arranging different parts in a composition in such a way that an alienating effect arises, that’ s what he is looking for.
The start of a new painting can actually be anything that stimulates his imagination. This varies from, for example, a holiday picture to a passage from a book that appeals to him.
Primarily however his paintings should speak for themselves in such a way to give room to everyone’s own individual phantasy in whatever they perceive in his work.
