artist/ Nicolas Desbons

Nicolas Desbons was born in Paris in 1969. He began studying art in high school. In 1989, he entered the A.T.E.P. preparatory program. In 1990, he moved to the USA and enrolled at the California College of Arts and Craft in San Francisco.
He obtained a BA in Industrial Design from CCAC in 1994, while discovering steelwork. He returned to France in 1995 and began his apprenticeship in locksmithing and metalwork with Fred Vigy in Montreuil.
After a year, he set up E.U.R.L Desbons Design in Montreuil, which in 1999 became La Boîte de Fer in partnership with Fred Vigy. In 2001, he changed his studio and status to that of artist. Since then, he has held a succession of exhibitions in France, Belgium and Holland.
