France
Nathan Chantob is a French painter known for his psychologically charged portraits that explore the fragility and intensity of human emotion. His artistic journey began with graffiti, evolving into a unique approach that blends academic realism with visceral expressionist techniques. His work captures individuals caught between exposure and anonymity, often emphasising fleeting moments of vulnerability.
His practice includes both intimate drawings and monumental oil paintings, employing raw textures and chiaroscuro to heighten emotional impact. His work has been exhibited internationally and is included in prestigious public and private collections. Among his accolades is the Alain Brugnon Prize from the Taylor Foundation (2022).
Having exhibited in several galleries in France, Europe, and elsewhere (Paris, Bordeaux, Chartres, Strasbourg, London, Geneva, Brussels, and New York), Nathan Chantob is now making his mark internationally. His work can be found in a number of private collections in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and the USA, as well as in the public collections of Lille and Chartres.
