Roberto Miniati, born in Rome on 14 May 1952 from a family of Florentine origins, cultivates his love for drawing since childhood, often bedridden due to an inflammation: “I repeatedly copied the characters of my favorite comics, I very much regretted those moments once healed”. This episode marks the beginning of a passion that, in the sixties, led him to create his first artistic works.
After obtaining the diploma, Miniati actively collaborates in the management of the family company, specialized in watchmaking and jewelry. Fascinated by the variety of colors and shades offered by minerals, he developed a strong passion for precious stones, distinguishing himself as one of the first gemologists in Italy. While enrolling in the faculty of Psychology to deepen the knowledge of the mechanisms of the unconscious, Miniati attends several private art academies at the same time. Abandoning such institutions, he devoted himself to the search for a personal art form, finally finding it in his self-taught experience.
Over time, Miniati increasingly refined his artistic knowledge, coming into contact with gallery owners throughout Italy and becoming a passionate collector. Despite his growing artistic activity, he is increasingly committed to the family business. After a terrible car accident involving both parents, forced to a long hospitalization, Miniati decides to take over the business.
