Crête

Yannis Markantonakis was born in Chania in Crete in 1955. He has been painting since
childhood, after studying chemical engineering in England. He settles in Paris
in 1985 and followed the teaching of Jean Bertholle at the Saint Rock Academy in Paris where he meets André Bouzerau, a discreet assistant but with unsuspected influence. It is
from this period dating from his first exhibitions at the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles
and at the Mansart House.
