Lieven, being a sculptor in céramics, has always worked his material in a very particular way. He works with different layers, removes pieces, add’s all kinds of materials to his clay,…. His enthusiasm for ceramic sculpture seems to be blossoming more and more thanks to his explorations with related materials and coincidences, which he seems to incorporate into his latest works in an inexhaustible way. This way his works always have a very particular and interesting appearance that’s not always linked to ceramics or clay, and that can be seen as ‘a new wind’ in this niche of art. This is why his works fit to the theme of ‘new horizons’.
