Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts and at the Pierre Mendès France University in Grenoble in Art History and Archaeology. The artist lives and works in Nantes.
After being almost exclusively interested in the body for many years, her research is now focused around the theme of nature.
“My painting is mainly inspired by my garden. I currently use acrylic or oil paint, ink or even wax. My paintings are titled on the day and time of their completion and more recently a word or phrase linked to the music I was listening to while they were being made.”
Isabel Lemaire’s painting is above all an astonishing dialogue between the infinitely large and the infinitely small.
