Born in Lille, Louis Lambert is best known as 3TTMAN – Three Heads Man. A key figure in Madrid’s contemporary urban art scene, he presents himself as both a visual and environmental agitator. His aesthetic arises from the fusion of graffiti’s punk heritage with the do it yourself ethos, adopted as much out of necessity as conviction. His work reflects a wide range of influences, drawing on both popular culture and vernacular religious art.
Moving fluidly across a variety of surfaces – from poster collages to freshly poured concrete – and techniques – from ceramics to mosaics – Lambert deliberately blurs the line between art and craft. Based in Madrid, he intervenes directly in public space: with sand, cement, and water, he fills potholes, reclaims bricked-up or abandoned storefronts, and transforms them with unexpected reliefs and vibrant compositions.
These actions, combined with his poster collages, have secured him a distinctive place in the urban landscape of the Spanish capital. Deeply committed, he believes artists should work to make the world more beautiful and more livable. His practice revolves around the openness and symbolic strength of primal forms, such as the cone, which allow him to suggest an intricate web of interconnected states of consciousness. Drawing on inspirations that he does not always seek to rationalize, his work ultimately aims to remain accessible and resonate universally.
