Joan Artigas Planas (born in Vilassar de Dalt, Barcelona, 1960) is a sculptor with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona and a professor of sculpture at the Pau Gargallo School of Art and Design. For almost a decade, he has exhibited extensively in galleries and art fairs across Europe, particularly in France, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands and Sweden. His work focuses on the female figure, portrayed as timeless, solitary and almost mythological. Cast in warm bronze and balanced on industrial steel structures, his sculptures create a poetic tension between fragility and strength, everyday life and transcendence, revealing a deeply personal and expressive artistic language.
