**JM Robert**, whose real name is Jean-Maxime, began painting at a very young age. He replicates the patinas, grime, and decay he observes on building façades. Alongside his studies in graphic and decorative arts, he honed his technique, drawing inspiration from urban art and late 20th-century painters.

Over time, JM Robert developed his own distinctive style. Using sharp, impactful graphics, he creates stencil-like portraits on abstract backgrounds that reflect the weathered and deteriorated textures of urban surfaces. While ruins often evoke a mix of complex and contradictory emotions, JM Robert aims for his art to speak a contemporary visual language, mirroring the expressions found on city walls. This naturally led him to explore the works of graffiti artists, whose language is bold and direct.

The goal of their creations is to leave a mark that instantly captures the attention of passersby. Similarly, JM Robert’s paintings immediately grab our attention, inviting us to connect with the fleeting presence of an impactful, anonymous face. His striking black graphics, which capture expressions in an instant, contrast with his signature palette of vivid, flashy colors.
