An art historian specialising in contemporary art, Marianne Goffard has found painting to be a response to personal upheaval. Self-taught, she began ten years ago by reinterpreting the great abstract masters, before developing a deeply introspective and singular style.
With her So Round series, Marianne explores universal themes such as resilience, escape and memory. The round form, omnipresent in her work, embodies continuity, movement and an inner quest. She also incorporates resin, a material that adds a dimension of depth and a characteristic shine to her works.
These dreamlike landscapes, veritable windows onto imaginary worlds, invite us all to look beyond our everyday realities.
Marianne exhibits regularly in Belgium, France and Spain. Her paintings, combining poetry and technique, offer an escape and an invitation to dream.
