Sylvie Gaudissart was born in Brussels in 1971. It was in 2010, after the birth of her five children, that she discovered sculpture.
She perfected her skills at the Luo Li Rong school of sculpture. There, she studied modelling from a live model, working on volumes, proportions and movements, currently under the benevolent eye of Lei Lin. The studio is also a place for her to meet and share ideas.
For Sylvie, sculpting clay means working with a living material. It’s about drawing energy and strength from it to shape life, create and capture everyday moments and tell a story.
Alongside her attraction to figurative art, her interest in animal sculpture has grown, linking her to nature and the fascinating world around her.
Through sculpture, Sylvie reveals her sensitivity, her gentleness, her wonder at the little moments of happiness in everyday life, and celebrates her joie de vivre.
