Juliette Frescaline (born in 1976) is a French sculptor who specializes in working with wire and recycled metal. Trained in Applied Arts at the École Olivier de Serres in Paris, she has developed a distinctive technique focused on the texture, density, and lightness of metal.
In her work, Frescaline transforms materials often considered rigid or utilitarian—wire, metal sheets—into organic, airy forms that evoke plants, veils, layers of nature, or animal-like armors. Her process relies on accumulation, weaving, folding, and the contrast between fragility and strength.
Her artistic approach celebrates ordinary beauty: wild vegetation—grasses, mosses, invasive plants—becomes a true subject, transformed into sculpted bouquets that invite us to reconsider what we usually overlook. The recognition of her work is reflected in her distinction as a Villa Seurat Foundation laureate and in her regular participation in solo and group exhibitions both in France and abroad.
