artist/ Emilie Dewaele
France
Born in Roubaix in 1984 and a lawyer since 2009, the artist has been passionate about creation since she was a teenager. “Lawyer by day, painter by night”, she likes to repeat. Her works reveal many nuances, but are always marked by the power of black and the depth of white.
The artist brings out the limits of the dichotomy between the world and the human being, while allowing each person to freely make their own interpretation.
The artist draws her inspiration from her legal battle, where her keyword is Freedom. Since 2021, she has divided her life between her practice in Lille and her workshop in Creuse, where she has set down her canvases and brushes.
By developing her very personal technique of felting wools, she adds nuances of softness and warmth to the duality of the values she works with.
