Guy du Toit (°1958) is a South African artist. He can be considered one of South Africa’s most accomplished sculptors. Guy du Toit creates anthropomorphic long-eared hares in bronze – symbols of life, rebirth and energy – that are funny and a little eccentric. They behave like humans: dancing, thinking, fighting, being naughty, jogging, etc. The artist is keen to preserve their noble, ancient appearance. Their charm lies in their wonderful simplicity.
