artist/ Debré

France

Olivier Debré (1920–1999) was a French abstract painter and a member of the School of Paris. His art focused on the idea of “lyrical abstraction,” where he explored emotions through the use of color and light. Debré was deeply inspired by landscapes, and many of his works reflect natural forms and atmospheric conditions. His large canvases are often characterized by broad swaths of color that evoke a sense of place and feeling. Debré’s work earned him international recognition, and he became one of France’s leading abstract painters in the 20th century.
