“…The landscape is certainly the pure stuff of dreams, and not because
that they require a scenographic context in which to situate the action of the
different characters from the dream, but because it is an instance
archetypal inherent in the human condition. Consider that man
depends for its survival and its evolution on the landscape for at least two
millions of years, because he alone offered him and in him all the keys to life or to
the death. This is why it has recently been discovered that humanity in its
together internalized the image of an idealized landscape, which would be none other than
that of the African savannah, that is to say a compass of blue sky, soft
hills, a pseudo-garden dotted with trees, the remains of a path there
leading, from a lake in the center and some medium-sized animals,
not at all dangerous of course, who seem to be lurking or drinking. In
definitive, all this would only be an archaeological reconstruction, even if
it is dreamlike, imaginative or artistic, from the original Eden!.
