France

David Bruce was born in 1977 in the Paris region. Self-taught, he discovered art as a dazzling, instinctive experience through graffiti, carried away by the excitement of affixing his visual identity to moving supports, in particular trains, from which he brings back photos like trophies.
Today, it’s in his studio that he expresses his artistic singularity, developing a graphic style vibrant with acid colors and facetious shapes. On canvas, he composes pop parodies of still lifes, mixing improbable proportions, playing with false perspectives, associating oversized fruits, generational smileys and federating logos, all winking at the eminently contemporary visual language that substitutes stylized pictograms for words to transcribe joyful and resolutely optimistic impulses.
David Bruce had the privilege of being approached by Nike’s creative board, who had spotted his work on social networks: an unexpected call that resulted in a carte blanche collaboration for a capsule of three T-shirts, now collectors’ items.
