artist/ Add Fuel

Portugal

Add Fuel, whose real name is Diogo Machado, was born in Cascais, Portugal, in 1980.
He made a decisive choice in 2008, turning to traditional Portuguese mosaics, the geometric mosaic tiles known as “Azulejos” that adorn the buildings and cities of Portugal. The street artist naturally turned to artistic creations that paid tribute to the craftsmanship of his native country, showing a genuine fascination for glazed ceramics.
In his unique art, Add Fuel is able to blend two seemingly irreconcilable visual expressions, combining traditional decorative elements with contemporary, urban forms.
His multi-layered compositions and vector drawings produce a form of poetry, with interpretation remaining free and open, leaving it up to the viewer to let himself be carried away.
