artist/ Aline ZALKO

France

Painter and illustrator, Aline Zalko was born in Paris in 1980. As a child, her parents used to take her to the Musée d’Orsay. There, she formed her eye with the Impressionists, the Fauves, the Nabis, Matisse, Gauguin, Bonnard, whose use of colors and perspectives fascinated her. Educated at Paris Arts Déco then at School of Visual Arts in New York, she began working as an illustrator for the New York Times. Back in France, she multiplied collaborations with the press, publishing and advertising. From 2013, she started to exhibit her more personal work, focussing on primitive nature, which made her appreciated by art collectors. In 2021, she had her first exhibition at Thomas Tournemine Gallery.
