artist/ De Gloire
Belgique
Denis de Gloire (1958), a self-proclaimed “painter-maker”, sings his way out of this weighty question. His expressive canvases and sculptures bear witness to a spontaneity and freedom that he learned from studying the historical tradition of painting.
De Gloire has always had an irresistible need for physical and social contact. He has always sought out real life, imbued with pure ‘joie de vivre’, energy and joy, vitalism and liberation, and all this is reflected in his work. As a true Burgundian, but also as an artist of life, he translates this joy and energy into expressive paintings and sculptures.
He is the artist, the action painter who loves the struggle with materials.
