Born in 1987 into a family of textile designers, Marius Messinese dabbled successively in music, writing, and fashion. A graduate of a fashion school specializing in pattern design, he decided in 2018—as a self-taught artist—to devote himself fully to painting, in which he would find his true means of expression. Drawing on a deeply Americanized culture—nurtured by his travels, music, and cinema—he has built a body of work imbued with archetypal visions of Florida and California. In 2021, he met Thomas Tournemine, who organized his first solo exhibition and became his art dealer.
