Beneath the tortoise shell lies Cécile Pagès, a draftswoman and engraver,

born in 1987 in La Ciotat. After studying applied arts,

she furthered her education at the Toulouse School of Fine Arts,

where she earned a DNSEP (National Higher Diploma in Visual Arts) with honors in drawing.

Today, she lives and works in her studio north of Nîmes.

In March 2021, Cécile Pagès was an artist-in-residence at the Atelier DPJ.

During this residency, she created three original wood engravings: La Balance (The Scales), La Criée (The Cry), and Le Crieur (The Town Crier).
