Yaz Taşçı (b.1995, TR) is currently studying Fine Art at the Beaux Arts de Paris and is a resident of Cité des Arts de Paris since 2023. Taşçı’s practice emerges from introspection and personal reflection. Through her creative process, Yaz uncovers emotions and expresses herself indirectly. Over time, she has recognized an ongoing effort to establish connections, which has become the foundation of her practice. These connections reveal themselves through the interactions and proximities between bodies in her paintings. At times, this extends to a search for belonging, where feelings of closeness and spatial distance coexist when the presence of trust is needed. The bodies in the artist’s works are portrayed as perpetually seeking a place, uncertain whether they find true contentment where they stand. Taşçı lives and works in Paris.
