Calligrapher and painter. Founder of the association AMITIES ART F.J. in Paris-Tokyo. A leading calligrapher from Chiba Prefecture, she expresses the traditions of ancient Japan and Asia in a modern style.
Oikawa represents the fourth generation of a family of calligraphers, a tradition that dates back to her great-grandfather, a calligrapher approximately 150 years ago, towards the end of the Edo period in Japan. Oikawa began learning calligraphy from her grandfather, Oikawa Habei, at the age of four.
