Nicolas Scauri aka SKIO is an urban artist originally from Nice, France. It’s in 1993, that Skio
took his first steps into graffiti — starting with wild-style lettering before exploring more
figurative and romantic worlds, inspired by pop culture and television imagery.
After studying graphic design in Manchester and industrial design at the European Institute of
Design in Toulon, the artist developed a unique aesthetic where geometric forms and realistic
representations coexist. His characters, often depicted with veiled gazes in order to hide the
eyes that are the source of identity, question our relationship with the urban environment,
offering a subtle and contemporary visual harmony.
Drawing inspiration from the Bauhaus and Surrealism, Skio builds a universe where
geometry, anatomy, and color find a delicate balance, infused with the rigor of minimalism.
Based in Paris since 2010, he founded Riofluo, an agency specialized in street art events,
and later launched EasyAAP, the first service designed to help mural artists manage and
respond to public art calls across the French-speaking world.
Equally skilled with spray paint, brushes, and digital tools, Skio expresses himself through
large-scale murals, studio canvases, and hybrid installations. For over two decades now, his
work has been showcased at many international festivals and exhibitions or art fairs,
establishing him as a key figure in contemporary urban art, with creations displayed in cities
such as Paris, New York, Mexico City, Sarajevo, and Mumbai.
