Pazza Pennello
Born in 1987 in Kyiv, Pazza Pennello is a Ukrainian pop artist who explores femininity, sexuality, and social norms through imagery inspired by the 1980s. After the Russian invasion, she “decommunized” her work, reinterpreting the aesthetics of Soviet posters to question societal taboos surrounding the body and desire. Her style, akin to pop art, combines flat color fields with bold black outlines. Her luminous, often intimate and fragmented scenes capture moments of release and mystery, suspended between vulnerability, nostalgia, and freedom.
