Born in 1990 in La Clusaz (Haute-Savoie), Thomas Agnellet grew up in the heart of the mountains—an environment that profoundly shaped his imagination. After studying at the Cours Pivaut in Nantes, from which he graduated in 2014, he soon turned toward contemporary figurative painting.
His work is rooted in a poetic exploration of inner and mineral landscapes. Influenced by nature, mountains, and light, he creates paintings that lie on the border between reality and imagination, where stone, water, and mist become the substance of memory and reverie.
Working mainly in oil on canvas, Thomas Agnellet develops a subtle, nuanced palette, where gesture blends with the slowness of time. His universe—both mysterious and contemplative—reflects a search for balance between strength and fragility, permanence and transience.
