“My name is Catherine Parra. I’m a French woman who’s lived in Barcelona for over 20 years.
My background is in fashion. I worked as a stylist for 21 years, creating my own brand of accessories.
Since 2019 I have decided to devote myself to my artistic passions, and there are many… I’m passionate, I love researching, tinkering, painting and modelling ad infinitum.
I particularly like the large formats 160 x 140, 130 etc. I express myself better …. I order my linen from Italy and I prepare my canvases myself… I’m very textile, I only paint with my belly and not with my head. I have no particular intentions,
I’m just sincere and authentic in my approach. I spend a lot of time preparing my canvases to give them that slightly ramshackle look. I hate
I hate smooth things and I only like flaws, with the aim of embellishing them.
My colours are meticulously worked and it’s very important to put them together harmoniously. I’m the queen of improvisation, I improvise each painting… I let myself be transported by my shapes and colours…. ”

An intuitive artist, Catherine Parra composes her canvases using simple, fluid, raw forms. She invites us to plunge into an abstract and colourful universe in which vibratory feelings emerge for everyone.
