In 2022, the town of Bergues received a donation of works from the Jeanne Matossian collection, assembled by a couple of passionate art lovers, Jeanne and André Matossian, between the early 1950s and the mid-2000s. Between them, they put together a rich collection of 526 paintings, sculptures, engravings and drawings. Among them are works by Sergio Storel, Olivier Débré, Robert Coutelas, Bernard Saby and Roger-Lambert Loubère.
This collection, remarkable for its diversity and quality, is now partly displayed in two rooms of the Musée du Mont-de-Piété, before being given a larger space after the museum’s renovation. Come and discover this private passion and its history.
