Galerie Adrienne D (Belgium) – who are we and what do we aim to achieve?<\/p>\n
My husband and I set up the Adrienne D art gallery in Kortrijk (Belgium) in 3\/2020 with a focus on contemporary abstract ceramics (non-figurative, non-functional).
\nI have been working with ceramics for 8 years, taking courses at the Academy of Fine Arts (Zwevegem, Courtrai, Tielt) and in various international workshops (e.g. Jane Norbury, Brigitte Marionneau and Corinne Gu\u00e9ho, Dalloun).
\nIt was while working with clay myself and out of a passion for ceramics that the idea of creating an art gallery focusing on ceramics by professional artists was born.

\nIn 2021, we also opened a shop on the Place du March\u00e9 in Ypres (Belgium) where we permanently exhibit contemporary ceramics.
\nWe are targeting the Belgian, Dutch and northern French markets, and are planning publications in the Revue de la C\u00e9ramique et du Verre, Klei, De kleine K.
\nOur focus is international, with an emphasis on superior quality. We believe that ceramic art often receives too little attention compared to other art forms. Yet this art form requires a great deal of knowledge, technique, expertise, patience, perseverance and dedication.<\/p>\n
With the artists we work with, our aim is to build a good relationship based on respect, trust and honesty. We want to understand what motivates them and what their concepts and points of view are in the works they present.
\nThe gallery is housed in a town house dating from 1945 and has several exhibition spaces, allowing for a variety of accents in a friendly atmosphere. In early 2024 we extended the exhibition space by converting the car park into an exhibition garden. This makes it possible to show works that can remain outside.
\nMy husband, Guy Gadeyne, is Belgian, 66 years old and has been a vet and cardiologist for small animals for over 40 years.
\nMyself, Chantal Buyse, 66, Belgian, a law graduate, has worked for 40 years as a human resources manager in various companies. We share a love of art and hope to continue developing it with the gallery in the future.<\/p>\n
