In his works, Jan Kuhlemeier uses layers of translucent colors to search for specific hues and shades, creating a dance between movement, energy and pigmentation.<\/p>\n
In his works, Jan tends to capture the geographical and physical qualities of the elements. The natural energies, movements and colors of his own personal experiences of the landscapes are transformed into an image or visual object. The tones he experiments emerge through the play of light and the reflection on surfaces. The artist does extensive research into different qualities of pigments and materials to capture the elusive ways of nature.
