In addition to his graphic work, photography, site-specific installations, sculptures and experiments with different materials, Florian N\u00f6rl’s artistic work focuses on the theme of \u2018textile stone\u2019, or \u2018Textilstein\u2019. \u2018Textilstein\u2019 is a material that he has developed himself, and with which he aims to redefine the limits of the textile medium in the visual arts. By alternating sculptural and pictorial confrontations with the textile material, \u2018Textilstein\u2019 finds its place at this interface. Thanks to a special treatment and technique, it has a velvety feel and a surface that is remotely reminiscent of stuccolustro. The textile material can only be experienced by touching it.
