Winner of the Prix Objectif Femmes 2018, Laetitia Lesaffre is a lacquer painter and photographer. She lives and works in Paris.
\nThe world Laetitia Lesaffre takes us into is one of appearances, reflections and symbols.
\nShe works with the mirror, a symbol of the purity of the soul in Japan, and invites us to introspect. She uses her art to present a new interpretation of her subjects, with no narrative intent.
\nHer photos are like little pieces of personalities that she captures in the light and opacity of the mirror, all set against a captivating black background.
\nBodies appear in all their splendor, but the subject’s intimacy is preserved by the blurred grain that makes the photos enigmatic.
