A graduate of the Moscow Surikov School of Fine Arts, painter Alexei Lantsev works with a wide range of subjects in the style of abstract and semi-abstract painting. Born in 1970 in the city of Krasnodar, he has had more than 20 personal exhibitions in Russia, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Hong Kong.
\n\u201cTo paint, you have to close your eyes and sing,\u201d Picasso once said. It seems that when Alexei Lantsev paints his paintings, he not only sings, but at the same time performs a real dance with a brush, giving in to an impulse that pushes him from the inside. All his compositions essentially consist of a combination of a graceful line with sonorous color spots, as if intuitively scattered over the entire surface of the canvas.
