Sophie Blanc is a gilding artist and botanist. It’s hard to believe today that Sophie Blanc started her career in electronics and IT. At 29, she decided to leave the corporate path for the Boulle School in Paris, to learn cabinetry and furniture restoration before specializing in gilding. She and her husband Jean Blanc founded the workshop À l’or et du bois in 2004. In 2016, she became a Master Artisan in the arts and crafts, and that same year marked a turning point. Since childhood, Sophie Blanc has been a gatherer. She naturally started applying gold leaf to plants, then began creating sculptures from them. This combination of her craft and her love for nature allowed her to give free rein to her artistic inspirations. In 2021, her workshop was listed in the Homo Faber Guide by the Michelangelo Foundation, which aims to promote the finesse of arts and crafts across Europe. Europe with a selection of artisans who embody excellence in their respective fields. Noticed at the Révélations fair, Sophie Blanc was invited to the 2023 art season at the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire. Her artistic installation ‘Childhood Memories’ was very successful with both the public and the specialized press. Her pieces were exhibited at the Homo Faber Biennale at the Giorgio Cini Foundation in Venice in September 2024.

[144
post-130114","artist","type-artist","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry

BLANC - Lille art up!

<meta property="og:description" content="Sophie Blanc is a gilding artist and botanist.
