Born in 1963 in Zhejiang Province, China, painter YE Xing Qian has been painting since he was a child and trained like all his classmates by copying the old masters. At the age of 19, he emigrated to France and exhibited in Paris for the first time at the 37th \u2018Jeune Peinture, Jeune Expression\u2019 salon: his style had changed radically; he still painted with Indian ink on bamboo paper, but his works had moved away from the motifs of classical Chinese painting. From absolute black to a thousand shades of grey, Xing Qian’s brush brings dreamlike landscapes to life, which gradually take on colour. Exhibitions became more and more frequent, and Xing Qian’s painting entered the language of abstraction.<\/p>\n
Gradually, YE Xing Qian is making a name for himself in China, where he exhibits in prestigious venues. In 2008, one of his paintings was featured on a postage stamp. His works are present in several museums and he is frequently invited to exhibit his watercolours and oil paintings on canvas.
\nIn 2018, five watercolours entered the permanent collection of the Guimet Museum in Paris.
\nIn 2021, a beautiful ink on canvas entered the collection of the Cernuschi Museum.
\nHe lives and works in Montreuil, near Paris.
\nIn 2008, he created a French contemporary art association called \u2018Mille \u00e9toiles\u2019 (A Thousand Stars).
